10.20-12.00. FIRST PANEL: RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AT NATIONAL LEVEL

The first panel will feature representatives of five EU Member States who will present recent developments of their law enforcement under the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (UCPD). These jurisdictions, notably Hungary,  Ireland, Ital, the Netherlands and Poland entrusted the enforcement of the UCPD to their competition authorities which resulted in numerous investigations against undertakings who tried to mislead their consumers, or applied aggressive marketing techniques. The discussion will also cover priorities and the effectiveness of remedies available to these authorities (fines, commitments, compensations, etc.).
