Petra Turi graduated from Faculty of Law, SZTE in 2009 after which she started to work for a Hungarian Law Firm in Szeged and she was given a scholarship to Noerr LLP (Berlin, Germany). She has finished two post-gradute educations (Specialized Legal Studies and Translation in German Law and Specialized Economics studies for lawyers). She finished her LL.M. in the field of European Business Law, during these studies she had the opportunity to acquire further qualification in European Consumer Protection Law.
Her professional career regarding financial sector has been started as legal trainee at the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority (HFSA) at the Department of Inspection for Consumer Protection in connection with money and capital markets. She was also involved in the Consumer credit SWEEP, organised by the European Commission in 2011. In 2012 Petra was appointed as a supervisor dealing with consumer protection issues in the insurance sector. Since 2013 she also has been dealing with financial consumer protections pojects in the European Union; she has been member of several committees regarding consumer protection (Committee on Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, Cross-selling Sub-group of the Joint Commit-tee’s Sub-Committee on Consumer Protection & Financial Innovation and Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPs) Sub-Group).
