Ildikó Fazekas graduated from University of Economics Budapest in 1977. She is an economist and an honorary associate professor at Szent István University (Gödöllő) as well as an honorary associate professor at Budapest Business School and an honorary professor at University of Applied Sciences. From 1987 to 1998 she was an associate professor of marketing communications at the Hungarian College for Foreign Trade (now College for Management and Business Studies). From 1996 to 1998 she was the vice president of the Hungarian Advertising Association. She has been the secretary general of the Advertising Self Regulatory Board since 1998. She became the vice chairman of the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) and in April 2009 she was elected its Chairman (2009-2013). She is also an author of numerous professional articles as well as a lecturer of professional conferences and training sessions.
